I think it was October and November of 1998 that Steph and I went down to San Carlos to get our Open Water and Advanced NAUI certifications with Eric, our instructor. Later that year (after she ditched me!), I was back down in Mexico with Eric and Ed, the manager of the Play It Again Sports where Eric ran his dive business from.
